The Popular Show Season Four Unveils the Soldiers Group
Since the launch of the fourth campaign, fresh DM the talented storyteller has kept fans guessing with rich lore, a wide array of personalities, and a thrilling plot showcasing divine entities, fiends, and sinister influences increasing in strength within the city.
Note: Key plot points for the third episode of the new season follow below.
The Combat-Oriented Party Introduced
The third episode concluded with a major cliffhanger and revealed the initial group of heroes who will branch out from the primary party to undertake their own adventure, apart from the additional parties.
This warrior group includes the determined fighter (brought to life by Travis), the nimble rogue (Laura), Tyranny (the cast member), Wicander Halovar (Sam Riegel), and Kattigan (the actor).
Dividing the Cast
Given a large ensemble, it was clear from the beginning that maintaining everyone at one table would be impossible.
Hence, the initial installments of Campaign 4 serve as an Introduction, intertwining the personal journeys before branching into three distinct groups: Fighters, Planners, and Questers.
The Nature of the Soldiers Table
According to the Dungeon Master, the combat-focused party is for adventurers who are drawn to a traditionally charged fight-heavy gameplay experience where peaceful solutions are few and far between.
Initially, figures such as the squeamish cleric Wicander might appear unsuited, but the actions of the third episode show why these five characters are perfectly fit for the combat party.
Why They Must Go
To begin with, the party has a clear idea where to go next after a brutal first encounter with The Crow Keepers.
A former ally of Thjazi Fang—whose death started the story’s plot—used The Crow Keepers for his selfish purposes, invading the hidden lair, assaulting the rogue, and stealing all the enchanted items to sell off.
The antagonist then cleared his liabilities and ran away to a fortified location in the northern region, beyond Dol-Makjar, with Cyd hot on his heels.
Personal Motivations
Secondly, each adventurer has a specific drive to leave the city the metropolitan area:
- Thimble, as the close ally and best friend, desires revenge.
- The knowledgeable figure is familiar with the northern area and warns that it is a dangerous place.
- Tyranny and Wicander, having resisted his house’s orders to execute Teor and instead rescued him, have nowhere else to go.
- Yet, their position as key figures in House Halovar could enable the party enter locations they usually can’t.
- Moreover, Teor pledged a eternal obligation to The savior for his salvation and will now accompany him anywhere.
Pursued by Authorities
In addition, all of them are wanted by the authorities that govern Dol-Makjar for a variety of reasons, making remaining behind dangerous:
- The agile adventurer and The character are known criminals.
- Tyranny and The healer betrayed the powerful family and the horde of evil beings they are allied with.
- The fighter is wanted dead by the clan.
This leaves them no alternative but to head to the northern region in quest for the traitor.
Future Episodes
According to episode three’s Cooldown, we learn that the combat party will not appear in the upcoming installment, leaving the remaining eight participants to round up the Seekers and Planners groups.
Audiences can anticipate finding out which characters will be in which group in the season’s concluding setup installment, released on the upcoming Thursday.
